Bugaboo Just Recalled About 1K Strollers for Injury Hazard — Here’s What To Know

Bugaboo issued a major recall today on some of their Dragonfly Seat Strollers. The recall does not include all Bugaboo strollers, nor does it include all Dragonfly Seat Strollers. It impacts about 1 thousand units that were sold in the U.S. and about 200 that were sold in Canada that have the serial numbers found HERE.

The stroller — which is available in black, gray, and forest green — has a base that can hold a seat or bassinet. The hazard was noticed by families when the seat was being used.

“In ‘parent-facing’ mode, the backrest of the seat can move downward, placing the infant in a negative recline,” the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission said in their recall alert. “In this situation, an unrestrained infant could tumble from the seat, posing an injury hazard.”

Bugaboo received one report in the United States and seven in South Korea of the backrest moving while in parent-facing mode. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

Consumers with recalled strollers should immediately stop using them and contact Bugaboo — at 800-460-2922 or service.us@bugaboo.com — for a free replacement stroller seat. The company is contacting all known retailers and purchasers directly, but it’s still a good idea for caregivers to double-check the serial number on the underside of their seat.
