Bucherer Fine Jewellery Taps Mytheresa as First Retail Partner

LONDON — Luxury retailer Mytheresa is going even more upmarket by partnering with Bucherer Fine Jewellery as the brand’s first stockist, starting Wednesday, with a curated selection from the line’s three collections: Pastello, Peekaboo and Rock Diamonds.

The first features rose gold and white gold designs; the Peekaboo plays on gemstones such as morganite, aquamarine, amethyst, golden beryl, peridot and prasiolite, and Rock Diamonds is the brand’s approach to a fresh way of wearing diamonds, by way of a trapezoid-cut diamond at the center of each piece.

“We are very excited to expand our partnership with Bucherer. After having started with an offer of certified pre-owned luxury watches from Bucherer we are now adding a well curated offer of exquisite pieces by Bucherer Fine Jewellery,” said Michael Kliger, chief executive officer of Mytheresa.

In May, Mytheresa partnered with Bucherer for luxury pre-owned watches as another way of speaking to high-end customers, who are able to shop more than 25 luxury brands such as Cartier, Jaeger Le Coultre and Audemars Piguet on the site.

They’ll receive a two-year warranty, and access to authorized watchmakers that will be able to repair or replace any parts. Prices on the site will be as high as 100,000 euros.

Big-spending consumers helped Mytheresa grow its top and bottom lines in fiscal 2023 in a brutal market for luxury fashion that won’t start improving until the second half of the current fiscal year, according to Kliger.

Mytheresa said its gross merchandise value, or GMV, rose 14.5 percent and hit a record 855.8 million euros in the 12 months to June 30. The number fell within a readjusted range that Mytheresa had announced as part of a sales and profit warning in April.

Due to turbulent markets, inflationary pressures and a slowdown in spending from “aspirational, occasional” customers, Mytheresa had dialed down its expectations for fiscal 2023.
