Chromat is at the top of our list of must-attend shows during New York Fashion Week. The American fashion label founded by Becca McCharen-Tran serves up sporty and sexy body-positive designs worn by some of the most diverse and inclusive models in the industry. And what really brings the entire collection together each season is the hair look.

At Chromat’s Fall 2020 presentation, TRESemmé global stylist Justine Marjan took inspiration from the Olympic theme and fashioned a beautiful bubble braid. Marjan personalized the imperfect, yet perfect woven braided ponytail with custom Chromat ribbons, adding to the athletic aesthetic.

Watch the video above as I, your Accidental Beauty Blogger host, attempt to recreate the bubble braid from the Chromat Fall 2020 show. I think I deserve an A for effort! And, of course, I will choose my ultimate must-have at the end of the episode. Keep reading for more details on all the products I used to get this look.

Dove Go Active Dry Shampoo Wipes

Dove Go Active Dry Shampoo Wipes are shampoo sheets that keep your hair looking fresh without having to actually wash your hair. I use the brand’s Dry Shampoo but I really like this alternative, as it absorbs excess oil from hair with just a few swipes. It’s also great for travel because it comes in a little package that you can pop into your carry-on bag and use whenever needed.

Marjan used TRESemmé Premium Styling Dry Texture Finishing Spray on the models’ hair to prep before pulling back into two ponytails. I used it after I styled my hair into two ponies, but I do believe it would be best to spray first and style after. It truly is weightless, and it takes just a little bit of spritzing to give me the results I was looking for.

You can’t live without bobby pins in your life, and I was lucky enough to have these cute Cricket Life Status Bobby Pins. They helped with all those flyaways I had throughout my hairstyle, and the tin that holds the pins is super adorable!

I truly recommended buying the Cricket Carbon Comb C55M. Besides helping eliminate flyaways, it doesn’t snag or pull on your hair. Plus, the tail end of comb makes it easy to make a perfect hair part.

The Ultimate Must-Have

I had to go with the TRESemmé Premium Styling Dry Texture Finishing Spray. What I love about the spray is how it gave my hair just enough volume and texture without feeling like it’s weighed down by product. It literally feels like I put nothing in my hair.

I hate having heavy or sticky hair, so I try to stay away from products that are loaded with ingredients that cause this type of feeling. But, this product creates a hold without leaving your locks crunchy.
