BTS Is Taking an "Extended Period of Rest and Relaxation"

BTS is taking some much-needed time to relax.

The K-pop group’s parent company Big Hit Entertainment took to Twitter on Sunday, August 11, to announce that the singers are embarking on an “official and extended period of rest and relaxation,” noting that their scheduled appearance at Sunday’s Lotte Duty Free Family Concert would be the group's last event prior to vacation.

“This period of rest will be an opportunity for the members of BTS, who have relentlessly driven themselves towards their goal since their debut, to recharge and prepare to present themselves anew as musicians and creators,” the statement continued. “This will also provide them with a chance to enjoy the ordinary lives of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly.”

Big Hit Entertainment concluded by asking fans to respect the singers’ privacy should they have a “chance encounter” with the group in public. “BTS will return refreshed and recharged to return all the love you have and continue to show them.”

Based on the reactions to Big Hit Entertainment's tweet, below, it’s clear that the BTS ARMY is in full support of the band’s decision, using the hashtag #RestWellBTS to send positive vibes.

“For once in BTS’ life, they’re gonna feel [like] normal people and can do whatever or anything they want out there after six years. Well deserved,” one fan said; another commented, “After six whole years BTS are going on vacation!!!!!!!!!!! Hope they get to do everything they’ve been wanting to do.”

Plenty of other celebs, including Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande, have spoken out about the importance of taking breathers in between huge projects and public appearances. Like the rest of us, BTS deserves quiet time to rest and recharge, and it seems their fans will be ready to welcome them back to the spotlight whenever they feel fully refreshed.
