BTS Will Join Lil Nas X on Stage at Grammys 2020

The 2020 Grammy Awards are just around the corner and it looks the Recording Academy still has some (BTS-related) surprises up its sleeve ahead of the ceremony, which will be taking place in Los Angeles this Sunday, January 26.

On January 22, Variety reported that breakout star Lil Nas X would be performing at the ceremony. According to the outlet, the “Panini” singer will reportedly take on the Grammys stage to perform his record-breaking hit “Old Town Road,” which dominated the Billboard charts last summer and took the whole world by storm.

Seemingly to honor the song’s many remixes, sources told Variety that, during his performance, Lil Nas X will be joined on stage by the likes of Diplo, BTS, Mason Ramsey, and Billy Ray Cyrus.

With six noms in total, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year, Lil Nas X is one of the artists with the most nominations at this year’s awards, tied with Billie Eilish. They are surpassed only by Lizzo, so it makes sense that he’d want to make his performance extra special by including that who's who of popular musicians.

The BTS ARMY has been speculating that BTS, who scored no nominations this year but made history presenting at last year’s awards, could be performing. However, if it’s just to join Lil Nas X, there’s a possibility only leader RM, the one member featured in one of the remixes, could be taking the stage.

Following the Variety report, the Grammys confirmed the performance, called "Old Town Road All-Stars" on Jan. 23. Other performers at the Grammys include Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, Rosalía, and more.
