BTS to Release New Song on "Butter" Physical CD

BTS might have just spent two full days commemorating their 8th anniversary with ARMYs around the world via their 2021 “Sowoozoo” muster, but the septet is giving fans one last gift before wrapping up the celebrations: a brand new song.

On June 14, Big Hit Music officially announced BTS will be releasing a physical CD for “Butter”  on July 9 — to coincide with ARMY’s official eighth birthday — that will also include an unreleased song. “The CD will include a new track that will make your heart beat to the rhythm of BTS’s positive energy,” the announcement on Weverse reads. Per an image teaser included in the announcement, it looks like the CD will come in two versions: a yellow (that reads "Cream") and an orange one (that reads "Peaches"). Could it be that the new song is called "Peaches and Cream" or is that just a small reference to RM's line in "Blood Sweat & Tears"? We'll have to wait a bit to find out.

The announcement comes just days after Korean outlet SpoTV News first reported the global superstars could be making a comeback on July 9. Shortly after, per Soompi, BigHit Music shared a statement with Newsen addressing the rumors. “We will reveal our artists’ plans after they are finalized,” it reportedly read.

The “Butter” physical CD will be the first physical music release from the septet since 2020’s BE, the group’s fifth Korean-language full-length studio album. BTS released the deluxe edition of BE on November 20, followed by the essential version months later, on February 19, 2021. The album included songs like Billboard no.1 charters “Dynamite” and “Life Goes On.” The album also propelled them atop Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart more than once. Pre-order for the “Butter” CD will start on Tuesday, June 15, and additional details will follow soon.
