BTS Member V Released a Brand New Solo Song Called "Winter Bear"

BTS member V has dropped a new solo track to cleanse your soul.

On August 9, the track — titled “Winter Bear”— and its accompanying video unexpectedly appeared across BTS’s platforms. In fact, V himself, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, unveiled the song on BTS’s Twitter account, simply writing “Winter Bear #V.”

The melodic track features English lyrics and is paired with a retro-inspired music video, also self-directed by V, that perfectly matches the song’s nostalgic feel.

The dreamy visuals show past memories taken in his time during BTS’s past tour ventures across the U.S. and Europe. Amidst shots of cute animals, breathtaking landscapes, and magnificent architecture, Tae can be seen exploring cities like L.A., N.Y., Paris, and London on his own with his trusty cameras in hand.

ARMYs —who were celebrating the 1000th-day anniversary since V himself coined the now popular term “I purple you” with the hashtag #IPurpleYou1000 — were caught by surprise but definitely not off-guard when the track dropped. Within minutes of the song appearing on BTS’s SoundCloud and YouTube, ARMYs worldwide made #WinterBear number one trending ( with #IPurpleYou1000 and “Kim Taehyung” also taking the next spots).

“Taehyung dropping his first full song in english completely made by himself, showcasing his deep velvety vocals and vocal range along with his beautiful lyricism and directing skills... i can’t stop crying,” an ARMY posted on Twitter after watching the video. “This a cinematic masterpiece, every single moment is filled with endless emotion and it's just so, so indescribably beautiful, taehyung is a true artistic genius im crying so hard he is so talented :((( thank you for sharing this masterpiece with us babie,” another one added.
