BTS Member V and the Jonas Brothers Used the "Old" FaceApp Filter

Is it the year 3000?

It feels like only yesterday we were all flocking to Snapchat to try out the viral baby and gender filters but, in case you’ve been living under an Internet rock, in the past few days, another filter has taken back the throne: the FaceApp “old” person filter.

FaceApp uses AI to transform our precious selfies and make us look older or younger than we actually are, but it is for sure the former option that’s producing some shocking results. Though the app has already been criticized over privacy concerns, that hasn't stopped people from jumping at the chance to see what they’ll look like when they’re old (at least virtually) — and that includes a member of hit K-pop group BTS.

On July 17, member V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, posted a side by side look of the same pic — with and without filter — to the Bangtan Boys’ Twitter account. “Since it’s been a while... how about I try dancing the Dionysus [choreo]?” Tae jokingly captioned the filtered snap, according to a translation fan account.

Of course, seeing as V was riding solo in the snap, ARMYs took matters into their own hands and also made a version including all of the seven members with snaps from a recent episode of the group's web show Run BTS! Because OT7 really is the way to go.

But BTS isn't the only boy band that's transforming into their geriatric selves; the Jonas Brothers have also jumped on the bandwagon. Playing with the filter, the trio took the opportunity to casually create a complete time paradox — reminiscing about their past and looking into the future at the same time.

“When you take a trip to the Year 3000,” the siblings captioned the three-way filtered snap on their joint Instragam — referring to their 2006 cover track “Year 3000.”

Given his lack of meme and general Internet knowledge, we’re not sure Nick was the mastermind behind the operation. But we are sure of one thing: Stranger ThingsMillie Bobby Brown definitely won the comment section.

“Has much changed and do you live underwater?” the actor inquired referencing the song’s lyrics, viral Instagram account Comments by Celebs noted.

Millie herself has yet to partake in the filter craze but other celebs like Lil Nas X and Noah Centineo have already gotten in on the game.

I don’t know about you, but I’m sure I’ll be stanning BTS and the JoBros in 50 years time, so I guess we’ll see if the FaceApp filter stands the test of time. If we manage to stop climate change by then, of course.
