BTS Member RM Joked With a Fan Who Failed Their Driver's License Test

BTS’s RM has the best words of advice, as evidenced by his United Nations speech, but his wisdom extends seamlessly to everyday situations, including his latest perfect response to a fan.

On July 22, a fan took to Weverse, the group’s recently launched fan community app, to lament failing their driver’s license test. RM, whose real name is Kim Namjoon, had the best (and funniest) reaction.

“Hi, i just wanted to say i failed my driving license test and i feel like a loser,” user robertaaa wrote on the app’s forum, prompting RM’s unexpected response. “Thts why i never do the test," the BTS leader commented before adding, "Lol no worries at least this planet has namjoon."

RM’s words of encouragement have ARMYs equally perplexed and amused, leading some to wonder whether the comments were fake or even an incorrect translation. But there’s no need to hit the translation button, as his posts were fully in English.

“This looks like fake sub but it actually isn't... he even used lol,” a fan pointed out after reading the message. “This belongs in the category of things BTS say that seem fake but are actually real,” another user wrote on Twitter.

Others looked past the language and found the message in his statement more than relatable. “I feel him in such a spiritual level. I can't even ride a bike without crashing into something,” a fan commented after seeing the rapper’s comments.

In December 2016, RM had opened up about his own driving journey during one of BTS’s V Live videos, revealing that both his dad and fellow member Suga had encouraged him not to take up driving.

“Everyone except me has a license. I’m jealous. [Suga] said I shouldn’t drive for the peace of the world. I probably won’t drive while I’m in my 20s. I want to drive too, though,” he said, adding, “I heard the test is getting harder so I’m afraid.”

A few years later it looks like RM has made peace with the fact that he does not have a license — yet — and we support him because, truly, we are forever grateful this planet has Namjoon.
