BTS and Lauv Are Releasing a "Make It Right" Remix Together

And JinHit Entertainment reigns forever.

It’s official: BTS and Lauv are teaming up for a song.

After much anticipation, the Bangtan Boys will drop a collab featuring Lauv tomorrow, October 18. The release of the song, which will be a remix of BTS’s Map of the Soul: Persona track "Make It Right" (which, in turn, was co-written by Ed Sheeran) was confirmed by Big Hit Entertainment on October 17 with a simple post on its Twitter account.

ARMYs started speculating about the potential collaboration on October 16, after Lauv himself posted a selfie to Instagram captioning it with what certainly looked like the English lyrics to “Make It Right,” and teasing “coming soon” and a mysterious winky face.

Shortly after, the “I Like Me Better” singer posted an edited picture of the time he met the members of BTS back in June to his Twitter. In the new pic, Lauv had photoshopped his green hoodie out, favoring a ruffled white shirt, which is much more in line with BTS’s concert outfits. “Did I finally #makeitright?” he captioned the tweet — making ARMYs’ suspicions flare up.

Prior to the official confirmation by Big Hit, some South Korean outlets reported the collaboration between the Bangtan boys and Lauv could indeed be happening. But the company was quick to announce they “couldn’t confirm” the rumors in a follow-up article.

However, their confirmation was truly not needed because BTS (or shall we say JinHit?) confirmed it themselves with a simple tweet. “You always #makeitright,” the BTS Twitter account wrote, retweeting Lauv’s edit — making ARMYs believe JinHit is truly the master force behind it all.

“This is how JinHit Ent works,” an ARMY pointed out after seeing BTS’s tweet. “#makeitright is trending [worldwide] at #2 after JinHit confirmed the collaboration with @lauvsongs,” a fan voting account also announced.

In case you’re not aware, the JinHit portmanteau is a running gag among ARMYs. The fan-favorite term was coined back in 2015 when Jin posted a tweet urging BigHit to change the name of his promotional sign to honor his worldwide handsome face. To Jin’s amusement, BigHit followed suit and officially changed its official Facebook name to “JinHit Entertainment.”

While the joke on BigHit’s channels was shortlived, the expression became part of ARMYs’ daily vocab and, to this day, remains a constant among the fandom, who use it to designate the members’ actions that defy BigHit’s recommendations — which, more often than not, come from Jin. Like that time he cut his own bangs, or his interaction with the live interpreter at their most recent tour stop in Saudi Arabia.

Regardless of who you feel actually confirmed the news about BTS’s latest collab, Lauv seems to be over the moon that the cat is finally out of the bag, and he's as excited as ARMYs for the song to drop. “Can’t believe this is happening, but it is,” he tweeted after the song was confirmed — and we couldn’t agree more. Less than 24 hours to go until Boys with Lauv!
