BTS and Big Hit Entertainment Donated $1 Million to Black Lives Matter and Fans Are Trying to Match Them
BTS has donated $1 million to Black Lives Matter after making a statement that they stand against racial discrimination.
The band's incredible fanbase has raised over $500,000 as part of their #MatchAMillion initiative.
BTS and Big Hit Entertainment donated $1 million to Black Lives Matter as people all over the world join together in the fight to end systemic racism and protest police brutality.
Black Lives Matter managing director Kailee Scales confirmed receipt of the donation to Variety, saying “Black people all over the world are in pain at this moment from the trauma of centuries of oppression. We are moved by the generosity of BTS and allies all over the world who stand in solidarity in the fight for Black lives.”
A few days ago, BTS expressed their solidarity with the movement on Twitter, writing “We stand against racial discrimination. We condemn violence. You, I and we all have the right to be respected. We will stand together. #BlackLivesMatter.”
