BTS and ARMY Members Celebrate Jimin's Birthday

Happiest of birthdays, Jimin!

It’s officially October 13 on Korean soil, which means BTS member Jimin is ringing in his 24th birthday (or 25th, per Korean age reckoning) and his fellow members know this well.

While the septet might still be in Saudi Arabia following their most recent Love Yourself: Speak Yourself tour concert on October 11, as soon as the clock struck midnight in their home country, the members took to Twitter to shower the “Promise” singer with birthday wishes.

The first to do so was Jin, who shared a handwritten birthday message for Jimin. “Jimin-ah, happy birthday, I wrote this for a period of three hours,” he jokingly captioned the photo of his masterpiece, which simply read “Jimin, Happy Birthday! - Jin Hyung.”

Suga then also shared some sweet, tongue-in-cheek words for his fellow band member. “Jimin-ah, I wish you a happy birthday I hope that this year, you eat lots and grow up and up,” he wrote, according to a fan translation.

Shortly after, leader RM, maknae Jungkook, J-Hope, and V also posted their own birthday wishes for Jimin — this time accompanied by some adorable never-before-seen photos.

While celebrations are now official, the Bangtan Boys also took the opportunity to wish Jimin a happy birthday during their most recent tour stop in Riyadh, which was broadcasted live for the rest of the world on VLIVE. Though two days in advance, the group made sure to sing happy birthday — this time in Arabic — to a very taken aback (yet ecstatic) Jimin.

Jimin himself opened up about the members’ surprise in a live broadcast (also on VLIVE) earlier on Saturday, October 12. “The members started singing a song that I [didn’t] know, but I started kind of [lip-syncing] anyway just in case. The song sounded a bit familiar and I thought it was a New Year's celebration song, but I thought wait, it's a bit too early to celebrate new year's... then I heard someone say ‘Jimin’ and I realized it was for my birthday," the singer recounted fondly, according to a fan translator.

But, of course, the Bangtan boys are not alone in wishing Jimin a happy birthday — their own company, Big Hit Entertainment, as well as ARMYs, have joined in on the fun. From decking out buses with his pictures to holding fan-gatherings at local cafes, ARMYs have pulled out all the stops to celebrate Jimin’s day, which also includes leaving heartfelt messages on social media.

“Happiest of birthdays to the man of our lives. Park Jimin, I never got the pleasure to meet u but I can still tell u have the purest soul and we’re so lucky to call u our idol. You mean so much.. #HappyBirthdayJimin Ps. Hey Jimin, you nice, keep going,” an ARMY wrote on Twitter. “happy birthday to my absolute favorite person, the most talented and wholesome person i know, someone who always strives for the best and puts others before himself - you mean so much to me and i’m grateful for you - i love you,” another one added.

As expected, especially given RM and Jungkook’s recent birthdays, merely half an hour into Jimin’s birthday, the South Korean singer dominated worldwide trends on Twitter with 17 out of 30 trending topics relating to him. In conclusion, this is Jimin’s world and we just live in it. Happiest of birthdays, Jimin!
