I don't know who needs to hear this, but everyone needs a pair of cherry red pumps in their closet. Let Bryce Dallas Howard and me make our case.

In photos from her Argylle press tour, Howard styled a sparkly purple-and-red-striped sweaterdress with a playful pair of red pointed-toe stilettos. BDH could have gone with a black or a nude-colored shoe here, but the scarlet lends the whole ensemble a sense of cohesion, while adding enough pop that the actor didn't even need to accessorize with jewelry.

Bryce Dallas Howard chose to match her red shoes to the red of her outfit, and we've seen similar monochrome takes on the trendy color on the likes of Kylie Jenner at Paris Fashion Week, Selena Gomez at the Golden Globes, and Olivia Rodrigo. But when you think about it, a pair of red shoes could be paired with basically anything. A little black dress? Fabulous. A pair of jeans and a white shirt? Qué bella. A color-block moment with an alternate color like blue or green? It's giving Dorothy's ruby slippers.
