Brussels Sprouts Pickles Might Make You Swear Off Dills FOREVER
We got ourselves in a little bit of a pickle with the last season of WTFood: You guys LOVED our video on Pickle Vodka (I can see why-it's incredible) and Whiskey Pickles - so much so that we decided to dedicate a whole slew of episodes to the wildly popular world ... of pickles. There's no doubt Brussels sprouts are the veg darling of the moment. Whether we smash them, wrap them in bacon, or bake them with cheese you guys love them. What if they were pickled? I visited Brooklyn Whatever to "shpickle" (the term they coined for pickling all types of vegetables - broccoli, carrots, beets - but cucumbers) Brussels sprouts. Instead of adding traditional pickling spices like dill to the jar, mother-son founders Rachel and Abe Shamah give the sprouts a Mediterranean twist with dried oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, and whole cloves of garlic.
The result? INSANE. They keep their crunch and become pickle bombs of funky flavor. If you're addicted to everything pickled (guys, don't even try to deny it, I know you are), you need these A.S.A.P.
