Sorry, Disney, we DO talk about Bruno in this house!

Bruno Alcantara has been featured as a Pit Crew Member on RuPaul’s Drag Race since season 11 and All Stars 4. On the show, the whole point of the Pit Crew is that they barely wear clothes and rarely get to speak, which means that we get to learn more about those hunks by following them on social media.

During a recent Instagram Q&A – done entirely in Portuguese, Alcantara’s native tongue – the Brazilian bombshell shared a lot of interesting stories about how he joined the Pit Crew, his experience working on Drag Race, and even spilled some tea about his current relationship status!

Scroll through to read what Bruno Alcantara revealed during his new Instagram Q&A – and make sure to tune into RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16 when it premieres January 5 on MTV.

“How did you join ‘Drag Race’?”

“A lot of people have asked me about this, so I’ll just say it this one time!” Alcantara said. “It all happened through a friend, the culinary chef Jaime Laurita. We worked together on a tour, working behind the scenes with production. He is very close friends with Michelle Visage. So he connected me with [Drag Race producers], they called me, and they offered me to work with them on a music video for “The B*tch Is Back” by Elton John.”

Alcantara continued, “This was the first time that I was in contact with a few drag queens and producers from Drag Race. I would say that [this music video] felt like an audition for me. After that, we started talking about me being featured on [Drag Race]. At first, it was only going to be one or two episodes. But now I’ve been there for six years! Crazy, right?”

“Is RuPaul a cool person?”

“In my experience, RuPaul is incredible. He’s a person that inspires me. What he’s done for the community… and the growth of [Drag Race], being a huge hit in so many countries. I think it’s incredible. He is such a pleasant person on set, and lively, and professional. I just think he’s incredible.”

“What’s your overall experience working on ‘Drag Race’?”

“My experience on [Drag Race] is the best. The production team is amazing, and the show is so admirable, which is why it has won so many Emmy Awards. The show has a huge importance for the LGBTQ+ community and for drag performers. Nowadays, we see queens working on all sorts of projects. Their careers has been expanded so much already, and I’m sure the same thing will happen in Brazil [following Drag Race Brasil]. It’s really cool to be a part of this Ru-Volution.”

“Have you ever witnessed a serious/physical fight between the queens?”

“I’ve never seen anything like that. Of course, it’s a competition, and everybody wants to win. Having that competitive spirit is a part of the show… but I’ve never witnessed anything that you’d call ‘tragic.’”

“Did you ever have to set boundaries with any contestant?”

“This has never happened, actually. While we’re filming, everything is very professional. Everyone is focused on what needs to be done. The queens are in a competition, so they’re very focused on the work. They want to win, after all. So this has never happened. Everyone’s there to work.”

“Are you dating one of the ‘Drag Race’ queens?”

“Dating? You guys, I’m not dating anyone. I’m siiiiingle, single, single, in fact. I think I’m gonna have to open a recruitment process. But no, I’m not dating anyone! But maybe that will change soon…”

“Do you get to have a lot of ‘fun’ while visiting Brazil? [evil face emoji]”
