The actor closed out his roast with a few inspirational words of his own.

Following news of Bruce Willis' updated aphasia-related diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD), fans have begun recirculating an inspirational speech given by the beloved actor during his 2018 special, Comedy Central Roast.

The channel's series invites family members, friends and colleagues to come and comically criticize the roast's subject, with Cybill Shepherd, Edward Norton, Nikki Glaser, Lil Rel Howery, Dom Irrera, Kevin Pollak, Dennis Rodman, Martha StewartJeff Ross, and Demi Moore stopping by for the occasion.

Nothing was off limits to the roasters, who went after his questionable foray into music ("If you wanted to be humiliated, clearly we both know you could’ve just released another singing album,” Pollak jabbed), his nonexistent hairdo, his never-ending action star resume, his failed relationship with Moore, and so much more.

But Willis was unbothered, swiftly sending back digs of his own ("Cybill, it’s so great to be back on TV with you, honey, on another show starring me,” he countered an insult from Shepherd), but it was his own closing message that struck a chord with his fans.

"Nothing can keep me down; I've been attacked by terrorists, asteroids, film critics, music critics, restaurant critics, divorce lawyers, male-pattern baldness, and none of it—none of it—stopped me," he said from the podium, emphasizing, "because I am still Bruce F----n' Willis."

He bowed to the crowd as they roared with applause, including the attackers of the evening, before acknowledging a lingering question: why would he willingly sign up to be roasted?

"Was it because one of the last guys who did it became president? Hell no. Why would I want to be president when I can just keep being Bruce F----n' Willis?" he asked, before admitting there was just one reason he did the roast: "To settle something once and for all"—that Die Hard is, under no circumstances, a Christmas film. No, it's a goddamn Bruce Willis movie."

According to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, Willis' updated diagnosis covers a broad range of brain disorders that will, over time, negatively impact movement and behavior in addition to the previously diagnosed aphasia, which affects speech and communication.

There are currently no treatments for FTD, but the association, along with Willis' family, hopes to change that in the future. Fans who would like to help families affected by FTD can donate directly to AFTD.

And one thing's for certain: he'll always be Bruce F----n' Willis.
