Bruce Bogtrotter From 'Matilda' Is All Grown Up And Totally Hot
If chocolate cake could do for everybody what it has done for little Bruce Bogtrotter, we'd be eating a whole lot more of it.
For those who could use a little refresher: Bruce-played by actor James Karz-was Matilda's cake-eating hero, who fearlessly went up against the Trunchbull, and made chocolate-loving film watchers everywhere proud.
Fast forward 20 years-how has it been TWENTY years since Matilda came out?!?-and it seems like our favorite moment of cinematic cake indulgence may have been one of the last for Karz, who is now 31 and clearly following a very different diet regimen than his 12-year-old self.
Not only has he dropped quite a few pounds since his Bogtrotter days, but he's also proven that he's always been rocking some pretty handsome features beneath those (super adorbs) chubby cheeks.
Unfortunately, Karz stopped acting not too long after filming Matilda-he had a few small parts like his role in the Wedding Singer before calling it quits in 1998-which is a shame since we wouldn't mind seeing him on the big screen more often. Luckily, we were graced with this brief but magical foray back into acting in 2013 when Karz and Pam Ferris, who played Miss Trunchbull, re-enacted their famous cake scene:
Aside from that blast from the past, Karz has spent his post-acting days completing his undergraduate studies, working at MTV, volunteering with low-income communities to promote self-sufficient farming practices, pursuing a degree in biochemistry, and is now studying medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
We're not entirely sure what an osteopathic doctor does, but we suddenly feel a serious need to see one.
