Brooklinen Catches Up to Parachute, Coyuchi With Organic Cotton Launch

Direct-to-consumer home goods brand Brooklinen launches its first GOTS-certified organic cotton collection this week. The line includes sheets, duvet covers, towels, robes and bath mats.

Brooklinen co-founder and CEO Rich Fulop said the line was born of customer demand for organic cotton products.

“The customer feedback loop helps initiate the majority of our new product development, and organic cotton is one of the top fabrics our customers have requested over the past several years,” he said. “As a team we’ve also wanted to step into the organic arena for a long time, and doing it thoughtfully and intentionally was important to us. We did our research and made a big investment to make this launch as great as it possibly can be, and we’re thrilled with the final result.”

Bedding in the collection features a percale weave of 100 percent long-staple cotton with a garment-washed finish and comes in sizes ranging from full to California king starting at $65. The bath collection has a horizontal ribbed texture and mid-weight feel in Turkish cotton, starting at $45. The collection comes in a range of neutrals and bold hues inspired by the natural world.

“The organic collection was made with the earth in mind, so it was only fitting that our color palette was inspired by nature,” said Deanna Wu, vice president of merchandising, Brooklinen. “We looked outward to develop each color way, evoking everything from azure ocean waves to warm desert sands. These colors combined with unique touches like the soft, garment-washed finish of the sheets and eye-catching ribbed texture of the towels make for a lived-in, yet luxurious feel in every piece.”

In addition to being GOTS-certified—which is a global textile processing standard for organic fibers—the organic cotton collection also earned Oeko-Tex certification for chemical safety. The line is now available in Brooklinen retail stores and online.
