Brooke Shields is adopting a less is more skincare routine — and loving it.

“Who has the time?” the actress, author and entrepreneur, 58, says while speaking exclusively to PEOPLE about the secrets of her regimen.

A True Botanicals brand ambassador since 2021, Shields says she was drawn to the women-founded skincare company’s easy-to-use and effective formulas. These days she has two faves, its Chebula Serum and Moisturizer.

Her low-key approach is paying off.

“Now makeup artists are saying things [to me] like, ‘Your skin looks great.’ And it’s unsolicited!” she says.

Skincare isn’t the only area of her routine that she’s re-evaluated.

“I've gone back to basics,” she shares. Most days it’s just a spritz of her fragrance and a swipe of her must-have face balm and mascara before she works out the door.

She says with a laugh, “If I'm going to get photographed by a paparazzi, at least I won't be mad at myself.”

But really, it’s about putting the focus on feeling good from the inside out.

“My beauty philosophy is: If you feel good, you're going to look better, and you're also going to take better care of yourself.”
