Brooke Shields Celebrates Daughter's 17th Birthday With Then and Now Photos

Shields shares both Grier, 17, and her elder daughter Rowan, 19, with longtime husband Chris Henchy.

Brooke Shields is wishing her daughter a happy birthday with a trip down memory lane.

The model, actress and entrepreneur took to social media this week to celebrate her youngest daughter, Grier Henchy, as she turns 17—and of course she needed to include some sweet throwback snaps.

Shields—who shares Grier, as well as her elder daughter Rowan, 19, with longtime husband Chris Henchy—shared a sentimental Instagram post for her youngest on Tuesday, April 18, uploading a mix of both old and current photos from throughout her life.

Starting out with a recent photo of the mother-daughter duo killing it on the red carpet together, the Endless Love star followed up with an adorable snap of herself planting a kiss on a young Grier's cheek. She also shared a handful of photos of Grier from birthday celebrations past, including one of her rocking a festive hat and another where she blows out her candles before diving into her birthday cake.

She ended the carousel post with another current photo of the pair, which showed them embracing and smiling for the camera.

"Happy 17th Birthday Grier!!!" the mom of two captioned her Instagram post on Tuesday. "I love you so much and I’m so proud to be your mom."

She concluded her message with a heartfelt sentiment, telling her daughter, "You may be growing up, but you will always be my baby 🎉🥳🎂🎈🎁❤️."

Tons of Shields' followers flocked to the comments to take note of how the teen looks just like her mother.

"The Apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree," one user pointed out.

"Such a goddess like her mommy" another person added under the post.

In addition to their similar looks, Grier is even following in her mom's footsteps with her career as well, as she has been breaking out into the modeling industry, which is how the Blue Lagoon alum got her start.

Shields talks all about her rise to fame and the repercussions of child stardom in her newly-released documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields, which is currently streaming on Hulu.
