Today in blatant understatements: Britney Spears has a lot going on. In addition to being a mother of two and celebrating the bliss of a new engagement, the 39-year-old singer is navigating her ongoing legal battle about her conservatorship. Oh, and as if that weren’t enough (although, for the record, it absolutely is), there’s also the slew of new documentaries about her life and legal battle to contend with.

When it comes to that last part, Britney’s fiancé, Sam Asghari, shared some thoughts on his Instagram Story in a post that seemed directed at several of the new and upcoming documentaries about Britney, including FX and Hulu’s Controlling Britney Spears, Netflix’s Britney vs Spears, the BBC’s The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship, and CNN’s upcoming Toxic: Britney Spears’ Battle for Freedom. In the post, Sam said that many past documentaries have left a “bad aftertaste” and expressed hope that upcoming documentaries about his fiancée would be “respectful.”

“Apparently my opinion has increased in value over [the] last few days 😂,” he wrote. “Past docs left bad aftertaste. I’m hopeful this one will be respectful. I don’t blame CNN, BBC, or NETFLIX (which got me through lockdowns 🙏) for airing them because as an actor I tell other peoples stories too.”

While he made it clear that he doesn’t blame the outlets that air documentaries about Britney’s legal battles, Sam also expressed some doubts about the motives of the projects’ producers and stressed the role of the grassroots #FreeBritney movement in getting the word out about Britney’s conservatorship battle.

“I question producers who made them ‘just to shed light’ without input or approval from subject,” he added. “Any credit for light being shed should go to #FreeBritney.”

After sharing his thoughts about Britney docs in general, Sam dedicated his Instagram Story to some more personal updates. Apparently, the couple have been maintaining maximum possible zen amid the recent round of documentary buzz by indulging in some self-care.

Sam shared videos of his and Britney’s DIY spa day and they are hilariously perfect.

“Okay, what are we doing here?” Sam asks as Britney lathers his face with cream.

“We are doing a facial right now,” she explains. “This is Clinique and it’s my favorite facial.”

At this point, Sam interrupts by making a face and asking, “Why is it itchy?”

Britney immediately shuts down any complaints, saying, “It doesn’t itch. You just have to relax and it’s amazing.”

Words can’t really capture the cute, relaxed vibe between the couple though. Watch their spa day videos yourself, below:
