Britney Spears Reportedly Suspected That Sam Asghari Was Trading Information With Her Father To Get ‘Access to Her Money’

Fans were shocked last month when it was revealed that Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari called it quits. After news of the separation emerged online, Britney, 41, has been using her Instagram page as a platform to express her thoughts.

Within hours of the announcement of Sam’s divorce filing on August 16th, the pop star resumed her usual social media activity and opened up about her heartbreak with her 42.1 million followers.

Moreover, recent reports have also claimed that Britney suspected that Iranian-American model Sam, 29, went behind her back all throughout their six-year relationship.

Allegedly, he “secretly” worked with Britney’s estranged father, Jamie Spears. In another recent IG post caption, Britney asked her fans about ever being deceived by their loved ones.

The "Toxic" hitmaker confessed to fans on IG that she "couldn't take the pain anymore." In a heartrending caption written about her divorce last month, Britney shared: "I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that." She went on: "I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but for some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses."

After being Britney's conservator for 13 years, Jamie's controversial legal arrangement finally ended in November 2021. During her conservatorship, Britney made a series of alarming allegations, one of which was that she was forced to get an IUD to prevent her from having more children, against her will.

Although Jamie has adamantly denied these claims, he reportedly declined to participate in a formal deposition where he would have been compelled to respond to inquiries from either Britney or her legal counsel.

"My HANDS ON MY HIPS SAY EVERYTHING !!!" the Grammy winner recently wrote on Instagram, mentioning her gesture in a new video. "How many times have you guys been lied to or tricked by someone you loved ??? Psss on repeat because well ... I MEAN IT !!!"

While fans don't know precisely what the "...Baby One More Time" crooner is alluding to, it's apparent that the relations between her and Sam are tense.

Reports suggest that Britney believes Sam was scheming with her dad to provide him with "personal details" about her life. An insider recently dished to The Daily Mail that "Sam would supply information to Jamie that would help to keep her locked in the conservatorship" and "in exchange, Sam was given access to her and her money." The source also claimed that "Britney now feels like Sam was being deceitful all along."  

Sam appears to be attempting to create distance from Britney after announcing their separation on his Instagram account last month. He unfollowed her on social media and avoided a question about their split during an outing in LA last week, telling a reporter that he wouldn’t be talking about his "personal life."

The former couple met in 2016 on the set of Britney's "Slumber Party" music video. They made their relationship official the following year. After almost five years together, Sam got down on one knee to propose, and Britney said yes. The two then tied the knot in June 2022. In August 2023, Sam filed for divorce.
