After filing for a divorce 17 years ago, Britney Spears is finally opening up about her split from her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, and sharing a glimpse of their marriage. In her new memoir, The Woman In Me, the pop sensation reveals what led to the end of their three-year marriage, claiming that Federline craved fame and fortune.

In her book, she reveals an instance where Federline was captivated by stardom, writing, "One time he came home late and told me he'd been at a party. 'Justin Timberlake was there!' he said. 'Lindsay Lohan was, too!' Kevin was so enthralled with the fame and power."

"Again and again in my life, I've seen fame and money ruin people,” she added. “And I saw it happen with Kevin in slow motion."

She revealed that was the beginning of Federline cutting off all ties with her and allegedly acting like she did not exist, which was never the case when they first met in 2004.

“There was a connection between us — something that made me feel like I could escape everything that was hard in my life," she shared. "That very first night we met, he held me — and I mean held me — in a pool for hours. It was beyond a sexual thing. It wasn't about lust. It was intimate.”

During the early days of her relationship with Federline, she always felt "safe and alive and sexy all at the same time." But in every seed of good, there is always a piece of bad. Spears wrote that she had “no idea” that the new guy she was dating was about to be a father to someone else's child.

“I was clueless. I was living in a bubble, and I didn't have a lot of good, close friends to confide in and get advice from," she wrote. "I had no idea until after we'd been together for a while, and someone told me. 'You know he has a new baby, right?' I didn't believe it, but when I asked, he told me it was true. He told me he saw them once a month ... I had no idea."
