Britney Spears' Husband's Divorce Papers Shed New Light on Their Split

New details have come to light regarding Britney Spears' recent breakup after her estranged husband Sam Asghari filed divorce papers earlier this week.
As reported by the Associated Press, Asghari petitioned a Los Angeles County court to dissolve his marriage to the pop superstar on Wednesday, Aug. 16, revealing in the court docs that their date of separation goes all the way back to July.
Asghari's filing reportedly lists their separation date as July 28, though news of their split didn't make headlines until this week. The model and fitness guru also cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, per the AP.
The "Toxic" songstress, 41, has only been married to Asghari, 29, for 14 months, following their star-studded ceremony in June of last year.

Asghari will apparently be seeking financial support from Spears, though he intends to block her from getting any from him, as noted in the docs obtained by the AP. He is also requesting that the performer pay for his divorce lawyers.
As for their assets, the value of both Spears and Asghari's independently and jointly owned assets has yet to be determined.
Spears still hasn't addressed the news of Asghari's divorce filing, though she posted a new photo to Instagram late on Wednesday, seemingly ignoring the hovering headlines.
Instead, the "Circus" singer announced her plans to buy a horse soon, sharing a snap of herself riding a horse on the beach and saying nothing about her impending divorce.
