On June 23, all eyes were on Britney Spears as she personally spoke on her 13-year conservatorship publicly for the first time.

In the 24-minute hearing, the star opened up about the legal agreement she's been in since 2008, making multiple revelations along the way before ultimately requesting the conservatorship's end. “This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good. I deserve to have a life. I’ve worked my whole life. I deserve to have a two to three year break and just, you know, do what I want to do,” Britney declared. “I feel bullied and I feel left out and alone. And I’m tired of feeling alone. I deserve to have the same rights as anybody does.”

Below, see how 16 celebrities reacted to Britney Spears’s conservatorship hearing:

Christina Aguilera

On June 29, Christina Aguilera took to Twitter to pen a long thread about Britney’s situation, accompanied by an old photo of the two stars together. “It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish. To be silenced, ignored, bullied, or denied support by those ‘close’ to you is the most depleting, devastating, and demeaning thing imaginable. The harmful mental and emotional damage this can take on a human spirit is nothing to be taken lightly,” the singer wrote. “Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing, and her own happiness."

"While I am not behind the closed doors of this very layered & personal yet public conversation – all I can do is share from my heart on what I’ve heard, read and seen in the media," Christina added. "The conviction and desperation of this plea for freedom leads me to believe that this person I once knew has been living without compassion or decency from those in control. To a woman who has worked under conditions and pressure unimaginable to most, I promise you she deserves all of the freedom possible to live her happiest life. My heart goes out to Britney. She deserves all the TRUE love and support in the world.”

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey was one of the first celebrities to publicly voice her support for Britney after the hearing ended. “We love you Britney!!! Stay strong," the singer wrote on Twitter alongside three heart emojis.

Halsey

Halsey also took to Twitter to pen a message to the star after the hearing. “I hope with my whole heart she is awarded freedom from this abusive system. She deserves it more than anything. I admire her courage speaking up for herself today,” they wrote. “Additionally, f**k anyone who thinks they have the authority as an institution or individual to control a person’s reproductive health,” Halsey later added with the hashtag #FreeBritney in relation to Britney's IUD revelation.

Keke Palmer

Keke Palmer took to both Twitter and Instagram to show her support for Britney. “My girl was finally able to speak up against her conservatorship after they tried to make her fear damaging her ‘image’ just to keep her quiet! How cruel to do that to someone that has only known performing their whole life. Then to contort the very thing she loved by making her do it on YOUR time. For the love of money is the root of all evil! But the light will always win, I’m so happy that Britney was able to tell the truth today and I’m ready to raise hell! FREEEEEE BRITNEYYYYY,” she wrote on Instagram.

Tinashe

“We love you SO MUCH,” Tinashe wrote on Twitter tagging Britney.

Brandy

“Sending all my love and support to Britney Spears and her fans,” Brandy wrote on her Twitter. “#FreeBritney,” she added in a separate tweet.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson

The Modern Family star retweeted an article about Britney's hearing and added, “Britney deserves freedom. She deserves to reap the rewards of her years of hard work. Britney deserves to be happy.” He also included the hashtag #FreeBritney and a heart emoji in his tweet.

Ziwe

“FREE BRITNEY!!!!!!!!!!!” Teen Vogue's 2021 Young Hollywood alum Ziwe wrote sharing the hearing's transcript.

Eiza Gonzalez

“Speechless. This is complete bulls**t of a corrupt dated system. I’m heartbroken for Britney. I grew up looking up to her so much and finding out that she’s been completely deprived of her own life for this long is gut wrenching. Justice for Britney,” actor Eiza Gonzalez wrote, adding the #FreeBritney hashtag.

Rosie O'Donnell

“Listen to the woman,” Rosie O'Donnell wrote alongside the #FreeBritney hashtag and screenshots of her past interviews with the star.

Vera Wang

Fashion designer Vera Wang took to Twitter to show her support for Britney. “No words,” she wrote alongside the #FreeBritney hashtag.

Chrishell Stause

“I will 1000% RIOT if Britney is not freed. We are SO PROUD of you @britneyspears! Listening to her call is equal parts heartbreaking and infuriating. #freebritneyNOW  and then change the laws #FreeBritney,” the star of Netflix's reality show Selling Sunset wrote.

Jameela Jamil

“Wishing all the luck in the world to Tahani’s good friend, Britney Spears today,” The Good Place actor wrote on Twitter. “It is the most bizarre theft of freedom that has happened right in front of our eyes for over a decade now, and I hope she finds assistance with organizing her life that she is comfortable with now.”

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake, who publicly apologized to Britney and Janet Jackson earlier this year, posted a long thread on Twitter in reaction to the hearing. “After what we saw today, we should all be supporting Britney at this time,” his note starts. “What’s happening to her is just not right. No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body. No one should EVER be held against their will… or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for. Jess and I send our love, and our absolute support to Britney during this time. We hope the courts, and her family make this right and let her live however she wants to live.”
