Taylor Swift, Britney Spears

While Britney Spears celebrates the continued success of her best-selling new memoir, The Woman in Me, she took a moment to put the focus on another pop star, Taylor Swift.

Spears posted two side-by-side throwback photos on Instagram, from 2003 and 2008, showing herself and Swift standing together and smiling. She recalled a time while touring when she first encountered the now-33-year-old, writing, "There was a knock, and then he said, 'I have a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.' I was like of course !!! He walks in, and she sings a beautiful song with her guitar 🎸 I was like wow wow she's unbelievable !!!"

"We took a picture, and she then became the most iconic pop woman of our generation," she went on, praising Swift's success. "Kinda cool she plays stadiums, and I prefer her videos over movies any day. She's stunning !!! Girl crush 💄 💄 💄."

As Spears shared her kind message to Swift, the singer was performing at a stop on her Eras Tour in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in her first concert back from a fall break.

At the Saturday, Nov. 11 show, the legions of fans in the audience were joined by one very special Swiftie: Travis Kelce. Swift's beau cheered her on as she performed all her hits, and she made the crowd go wild when she changed the lyrics of her hit song "Karma" as a tribute to Kelce. The football star danced all night beside Swift's father, Scott Swift, even blowing a kiss and waving at his love as she closed the show.

After Argentina, Swift will perform a series of shows in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil, Tokyo, Japan and more as she continues her world tour. She will return to the U.S. with a handful more dates in fall 2024.
