Bristol’s State Street Tattoo Fest welcomes nearly 80 artists

BRISTOL, Tenn./Va. (WJHL) – Bristol’s State Street Tattoo Fest kicked off on Friday with nearly 80 artists from across the nation. The tattoo festival welcomes more than 1,000 tattoo enthusiasts over the weekend-long festival.

“We had about 1,500 people through the door last year, so that’s really what we’re hoping for again this year,” said Justin Brown, the festival’s promoter.

“And even as far as like downtown businesses and everything, I mean, all of them love it. You know, all the artists and the patrons go and spend money and eat and shop and drink and everything around downtown. So I mean, we’ve gotten a great response from everybody.”

Brown said tickets to the tattoo fest support small businesses throughout State Street.

“And we have about 15 or so businesses downtown that will offer you a discount on their store. If you have our wristband on,” said Brown. “So it’s definitely something that you can go and, you know, shop downtown while your significant other is getting tattooed.”

State Street Tattoo Fest is held at the Foundation Event Facility from now to Sunday.
