Brilliant Cat Outsmarts the Automatic Feeder Like a Total Pro

As the saying goes, "curiosity killed the cat," which basically just indicates that cats are curious animals, and sometimes their curiosity can put them in danger, while other times they benefit from it.

Chicago comedian Grant Mooney shared a video, posted on August 29, of his cat, whose curiosity led it to outsmart the automatic feeder, and it's hilarious! Let's see for ourselves!

Such a smart kitty!

Cats are known for their intelligence and resourcefulness, and it's not uncommon for them to figure out ways to outsmart automated devices, including automatic feeders.

Since cats are natural problem solvers and curious animals, they often find creative solutions to challenges, and an automatic feeder is no exception.

As you can see in the video, this cat uses its paws, which is common for them to manipulate objects since they have nimble paws. And since the automatic feeder has buttons, it just figured, why not just push the button and see what happens?

Maybe it was the sound of the automatic feeder that piqued its curiosity, as a cat could learn to associate that sound with mealtime. And over time, cats might try to trigger the sound themselves, which this one kind of did here.

Now all Mooney has to do is make sure the feeder is filled with enough cat food. But if his cat gets too greedy, it might find other ways to manipulate the feeder, such as by knocking it over for the lid to open.

Let's hope Mooney's cat won't get to that point.

However, every cat is unique, and their behavior can vary widely. While some cats are curious about how to master the art of manipulating certain objects, such as automatic feeders, other cats are more curious about what would happen if they were eating balloon strings or plants.
