Brie Larson Just Covered Taylor Swift’s ‘The 1,’ and Now We Need a Collab

Brie Larson is a woman of many talents. She has an Oscar. She's a kick-ass Marvel superhero. And now she can add Taylor Swift cover artist to the list. The actor is obviously as obsessed with Folklore as the rest of us and has already put at least one song to memory—and it just happens to be my favorite too. Larson posted a clip of herself playing guitar (so Swiftian!) and singing the opening verse of “The 1," the first track on Swift's eighth studio album.

“This cover of ‘the 1’ by @taylorswift13 is dedicated to my forever Swiftie friend, Jessie,” Larson tweeted. She also posted the clip to her Instagram. Honestly, she sounds pretty good, and we would not be mad at a little collaboration moment. (For those who forget, Larson had a little pop star moment of her own in the early aughts.)

Some of Larson's famous friends chimed in via the comments section on Instagram. “Why are you the world’s cutest human!? 💓,” Sophia Bush wrote. Awkwafina left a simple “❤️” and Glennon Doyle added, “LOVVVVEEEEEEE!!!!!!”

Many social media Swifties were into Larson's rendition too. “The feelings I get when Brie Larson sings anything but specifically Taylor Swift are too complex for me to dig into they’re so vast and impactful,” one person wrote. “BRIE COVERING TAYLOR IS ALL I’VE EVER WISHED FOR,” another tweeted.

But a few fans remarked that Swift has yet to comment on or react to Larson's cover. Any longtime Swift lover knows she likes to pop onto Twitter, Tumblr, or Instagram to like and comment on posts, especially around the time she releases new music. Hopefully, a reaction comes soon!

Of course, none of us has any way of knowing whether or not Swift even saw the cover—let alone what she thought of it. Either way, we're just going to go back to listening to Folklore on a loop until the end of time.
