Bride and groom blasted for 15 outrageous wedding-day rules for guests: ‘Your opinion is irrelevant’

Guests had to say “I do” to this matrimonial mandate.

A bride and groom have been blasted as “a–holes” for giving guests a list of 15 rules to follow on their wedding day.

The couple — who have not been identified — were shamed after a disgruntled invitee leaked the list, which wound up on Reddit with the caption: “Bridezilla/Groomzilla.”

The bluntly written list began by reminding guests that they were not to overshadow the newlyweds, with the first rule reading: “This is [redacted] and [redacted’s] big day, not yours.”

“Do not get in the photographer’s way,” the couple then implored before ordering guests to only dress in black and gold attire.

The bride and groom also reminded invitees to keep their opinions to themselves while attending the wedding, writing: “If you didn’t put any money out for the wedding, keep your should’ve, could’ve, would’ve to yourselves.

“Your opinion is irrelavant,” they declared — the misspelling of “irrelevant” included.

They also ordered guests to “pace themselves while drinking” while simultaneously telling them to have a good time.

“If you can’t handle or dislike the music, simply go home,” they declared. “This is a celebration. Not a funeral.”

Meanwhile, the couple additionally asked guests to use a designated wedding hashtag for any social media uploads and told them to refrain from sitting down throughout the evening.

The couple concluded by sharing their 15th rule: “Turn ALLLL the way up!”

Hundreds of Redditors railed against the couple, with one writing: “Doesn’t sound like they’re mature enough to get married.”

Another quipped: “How am I supposed to turn up and not sit down at least once? S–t, I’d take so many selfies just sitting down using their hashtag.”

Others, however, said the rules were not exactly outlandish, but they did bristle at the bride and groom’s tone.

“I feel like all of these could be rewritten to not sound like an a–hole,” one suggested.

“I mean none of these rules and expectations are particularly unreasonable, they’re just worded hella aggressively,” a second stated.

“The couple know their own friends and family better than any of us,” they further reasoned. “They very well may be the type of crowd that need rules stated very bluntly and clearly to understand that they’re not just loose suggestions.”

Still, one commenter suggested that the bride and groom would go to greater lengths to enforce their domineering demands.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a giant poster featuring these rules somewhere in the reception location,” they wrote.
