Bride explains why she and her husband served Chili’s at their wedding: ‘Michael Scott type wedding catering'

A bride named Madison Mulkey (@brideisapersonality) recently posted a video explaining why she and her husband decided to serve Chili’s at their wedding.

One of the main reasons why the couple chose Chili’s was because of the price. In total, they spent $1,950.04 on the food, which was a welcomed sight.

“First of all, we loved the price point,” Mulkey said. “It’s insane that we only spent that much for our wedding food.”

In this package, the meal came with chicken tenders, sliders, egg rolls, chips and salsa, etc. On top of that, they also had five specialty meals for people with dietary needs such as intolerance to gluten, dairy and seafood.

“Michael Scott type wedding catering,” replied @dillydillymeme.

The couple had 99 people at their wedding, bringing the cost per person for the food to roughly 20 dollars. That is significantly lower than the average cost at weddings right now. According to a 2022 study by The Knot, the average per-person price for food at a wedding is 75 dollars. If Mulkey and her husband went down a more traditional route, they would’ve paid close to $7,500 for catering. This way, they saved over $5,000.

There were some downsides to having Chili’s catered, though. Mulkey explained how they had to pick the food up several hours before the event and had to find a way to reheat it properly. Mulkey’s aunt works in food service, so she was able to get that process streamlined. However, it was still a hassle.

Nevertheless, the strategy worked for Mulkey, as well as some of her viewers.

“The way I’m literally planning to get Olive Garden catering,” replied @veronicaneff.

Even with the extra work in preparation, considering the price and amount of options they had, Mulkey is extremely happy they catered from Chili’s for her wedding.
