Bride Does Special Wedding Dance with Her Dog Since He's Her 'First Love'

As a bride-to-be and dog owner, I've been brainstorming dozens of different ways I can involve my furry friends in our big day. After all, these dogs are just as important to my family as our human relatives, and they love being around people even more than I do. I've considered everything from them walking down the aisle to hiring a professional wedding petsitter (yes, those exist!) but I just might have to take a note from newlywed Kelly and her beloved Goldendoodle, Howard.

The duo looked exceptional on Kelly's wedding day, and they made sure to share a special moment on the dance floor together. Howard will always be Kelly's first love, of course, and it's only fitting that they have their fifteen minutes of fame, too. Besides, just look how sweet they are!

Aww--pass the tissues, please! Howard the Goldendoodle dog seems oh-so-happy to be sharing this moment with his mama, even if he is a bit distracted by the camera flashes and commotion. Honestly, who can blame him? A wedding is such a big deal, and it's likely been a whirlwind day for the dog of honor, too.

Of course, no one appreciates this special dance quite like the bride herself. As she mentioned, this pup has been there for much of her adult life, and he carried her through every breakup, heartbreak, and horrible first date. That's something many dog owners can relate to and appreciate!

Ways to Include Your Dog in Your Wedding

As Poodle mix mom @calikellyy proves, there's no wrong way to help your dog find their role in your wedding. Whether they act as the ring bearer, the best pup, or even the welcome committee, you'll get the chance to show off your favorite dog while ensuring no one misses your special day.

If there's a little extra room in your budget, you can also look into professional pet sitting services. There are even dog sitters meant especially for weddings, who will make sure your dog is supervised and taken care of throughout the day. They can work with you to help your dog practice and execute their wedding day role perfectly, whether they're hopping onto the dance floor with you or simply posing for photos.

If including your dog in your wedding is a must-have, you'll want to ensure that you pick a pet-friendly venue. Many places will be more than accommodating! With just a little planning and time, you and your pup will be touching everyone's hearts just like Kelly and Howard did.
