Breitling’s history in timekeepers optimized for aviation dates back to the 1930s, when Willy Breitling formed the HUIT Aviation Department, dedicated to creating precision aircraft instruments and pilots’ chronographs. Fast forward a few decades and the brand launched its Avenger collection in 2001 alongside its iconic Navitimer and Chronomat. The Avenger collection is distinguished by its military look and feel. Now, we get three fresh new takes on the collection—one is even equipped with Breitling’s own B01 movement.

With the newly redesigned Avenger collection, Breitling introduces three new variations: the B01 Chrono 44, Automatic GMT 44, and the Automatic 42. All pieces come with the choice of a military leather strap with a folding pin buckle or a three-row stainless steel bracelet with a micro-adjustable folding clasp, and each offers 300 meters of water resistance. Otherwise, each iteration is entirely unique.

The standout of the collection is the B01 Chrono 44. Here, you get the standard version with a stainless steel build in four stunning colorways: a classic black alongside unique shades of blue, green, and sand. For the blue and green iterations, you get a softer tone on the dial and a darker contrasting strap in the same shade. Alternatively, with the black and sand, you get a perfectly color-matched complementary strap. Each variation features black subdials, which really pop on the blue, green, and sand colorways and give the black model a sleek, tonal look.

For those seeking an even bolder look, there’s the Night Mission. This iteration of the B01 Chrono 44 swaps the stainless steel case for black ceramic, giving it a stealthy and lightweight look and feel. With the Night Mission, you can choose a black carbon dial or a bold yellow. While the standard variations offer a more refined take that can easily be dressed up or down, the Night Mission is distinctly sporty. Of course, the centerpiece of each and every version of the B01 Chrono 44 is COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01.

Breitling Avenger Automatic GMT 44

Alongside the B01 Chrono 44, we get the Automatic GMT 44 and the more modestly sized Automatic 42. The GMT features a classic design with a stainless steel construction and the option of a black or blue dial. Inside, you’ll find the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 32. The Automatic 42 offers a straightforward design, also rendered in stainless steel with the option of a blue or black dial and deep green. Powering this simple time and date option is the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 17.

Every version of the all-new Breitling Avenger collection is available now. The standard B01 Chrono 44 comes at $8,000 with the strap or $8,250 with the bracelet. The Night Mission iteration will set you back a bit more, ranging from $9,300 for the yellow dial to $9,500 for the black carbon dial. The GMT is priced slightly less, coming in at $5,250 for the strap version and $5,500 for the bracelet iteration. Last but not least, the Automatic 42 is the most attainable at $4,600 on the strap and $4,850 on the bracelet.
