It's time to say goodbye to WandaVision, but are we saying goodbye to all our favorite characters? The finale to the first Marvel TV series on Disney+ is officially out for all to see and it's truly a can't miss event thanks to incredible performances and some of Marvel's biggest reveals yet. So what happened during the finale? And how will this affect a possible season two?

Here is the ultimate breakdown of the WandaVision season 1 finale.

What happened in the season 1 finale of WandaVision?

The battle of Westview is underway as Wanda tries to take down Agatha who hopes to absorb all of her power so she can use it for herself. After saving Billy and Tommy, Wanda and Agatha fight amongst themselves. Suddenly, the White Vision appears and Wanda is able to recognize that he is real and not the one she created. However, she is surprised when Vision seems to start to attack her and her Vision comes to her rescue.

At the same time, Monica, who was discovered by "Pietro" earlier in the season, is trapped inside his house. As she goes through his stuff, she finds out that he is actually an actor called Ralph Bohner. Using her new powers, she discovers that he is getting his powers from the necklace that he's wearing and takes them off.

As they move their battle to the town square, Agatha is able to wake everyone up from the spell and Wanda realizes the pain that she has been putting everyone through. Still unable to control her powers, she accidentally chokes them with a spell, but soon takes it down. She opens up the hex to try to help them escape out of town, but Wanda realizes that her Vision and Billy and Tommy will no longer exist outside of the hex. With the hex open, Hayward and S.W.O.R.D. are able to enter without and issues. The family together decide to split up into their respective fights: Vision vs. White Vision, Wanda vs. Agatha, and Billy and Tommy vs. S.W.O.R.D.

Fighting against the White Vision, Wanda's Vision discovers that the reason why the White Vision was made was to "take down the real Vision". Presenting the thought experiment of the Ship of Theseus, the White Vision discovers that the Vision he is fighting is not real. In an effort to also help him not be used as a weapon by Hayward, Vision passes on his memories to the White Vision, who later flies away.

In the town square, Monica comes by right on time and is able to stop the bullets from Hayward's gun from killing Billy and Tommy. As he jumps into a nearby car to purposefully drive into them, Darcy appears in her truck and crashes into him to stop him.

Agatha and Wanda continue to fight, with Wanda trying to stop everything by passing over her power. However, it's discovered that her true objective was creating runes within the hex so Agnes can no longer used her powers anymore. She then absorbs Agatha's powers and is finally becomes the Scarlet Witch. Wanda takes away her memory and leaves her as "Agatha" as that was the role she chose.

Wanda reunites with her family one last time back home before officially taking down the hex. She thanks Billy and Tommy for choosing her to be their mom. Wanda and Vision say goodbye downstairs where he ask her, "What am I?" She reveals that her Vision is the piece of the mind stone that lives inside of her.

"You are a body of wires and blood and bone that I created. You are my sadness and my hope. But mostly, you're my love." The two share a kiss as the hex starts to disappear around them.

Vision says, "I have been a voice with no body. A body, but not human. And now, a memory made real. Who knows what I might be next? We have said goodbye before, so it stands to reason..."

"We'll say hello again," Wanda replies. Soon, Wanda is left alone in the lot that the real Vision bought for her before Avengers: Endgame.

Returning to the town square, Wanda knows that the people of Westview will never forgive her, but she apologizes to Monica for all the trouble she causes. Monica says she understands why she did it, especially after losing her mom. With her new unlocked powers, Wanda leaves Westview for good.

What happens in the mid-credits scene?

In the first post-credit scene, Monica talks with Jimmy, who seems to have overtaken the investigation from Hayward who was arrested. Monica reveals that Darcy left because she doesn't want to be debriefed on the situation. Meanwhile, a S.W.O.R.D agent comes to tell Monica that someone is waiting for her in the movie theater. As she enters, the agent shifts back into a Skrull who tells them that an old friend of her mothers is waiting for up in space. With a smile, Monica gets excited to head back.

What happens in the second post-credits scene?

In the scene after the final credits, Wanda is seen living by herself in a cabin up in the mountains. As she goes to fill her cup with tea, the camera continues to pan inside the house where Wanda, in her Scarlet Witch form, is reading the Darkhold to figure out more about her powers. She suddenly hears Billy and Tommy's voices calling out for her help and she uses a spell as the screen fades to black.

What does the finale mean for season two of WandaVision?

Unfortunately for us, it seems like a season two isn't really in the cards. However, Monica is set to continue her story in Captain Marvel 2. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen is going to star in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as Wanda.
