Breaking Down the "Julie and the Phantoms" Season 1 Ending
Just when you thought everything was going well for our favorite band, Julie and the Phantoms threw them a HUGE curveball and they were stuck facing their biggest challenge yet. Of course, this wouldn't be a Netflix series without something going down in the season finale and a LOT happened for Sunset Curve, Julie, and everyone else during their first big show. The season 1 finale sure left fans wondering what's next for the group if the show comes back for another season.
Here is the ultimate breakdown of the Julie and the Phantoms season 1 ending.

What happened at the end of season 1 of Julie and the Phantoms?
After discovering that the reason why they keep getting zapped is because of a curse put on them by Caleb, Julie and the boys of Sunset Curve try to settle things by coming up with a plan to help them cross over to the other side. Willie helps them by getting rid of the opening act of Panic! At the Disco, which gives them the chance to be the opening act at the Orpheum Theatre. Meanwhile, after hearing the news that his former bandmates are playing at the theatre that night, Trevor Wilson (AKA Bobby), decides to go check them out.
Later that night, the guys are kidnapped by Caleb and forced to play a number at his show at the same time that they are set to go on at the Orpheum. Julie, believing that she can't play by herself, runs away from the theater and asks her mom for a sign letting her know that she's where she's supposed to be. A mysterious person gives her a flower and Julie takes it as a sign that she is meant to perform no matter what.
As she takes the stage and starts singing by herself, the boys magically appear, showing that they were somehow able to escape from Caleb to play their show. After they finish playing, the boys disappear leaving Julie in tears over them crossing over.
However, on her way back home from the show, she discovers the guys back in the rehearsal space where they reveal that they didn't actually cross over and that playing at the Orpheum wasn't what they needed to do. Caleb is still hurting them due to the stamps that he gave them before and they said that they don't plan to return to him no matter what.
After Julie hugs Luke and reveals that she loves the guys and everything they've done together, the stamps disappear and they suddenly have the ability to touch and exist in the real world like actual people. Nick shows up to Julie's house the next morning with flowers, but Caleb is revealed to be right behind him as he rings the doorbell. Caleb ends up taking over Nick's body before Julie opens the door, unknowingly realizing that it's actually Caleb.
What does the ending mean for season 2 Julie and the Phantoms?
The ending showed the ghosts actually being able to hug Julie for the first time, either proving that they are becoming stronger thanks to the power of love or that they might be turning human once again. However, it wasn't actually revealed which scenario is true for the guys.
Julie and Sunset Curve will certainly be thinking about where Caleb if the show returns for another season, especially now that's in Nick's body. Plus, there's the huge Nice/Julie/Luke love triangle that has viewers wondering which guys Julie is going to choose. Speaking of ships, Alex and Willie seem to be getting some distance between them after everything that went down, but will they be able to stay away from each other long enough?
It looks like Carlos found out that the boys aren't actually holograms, but ghosts, which seems to hint at some complications in the next season. And who can forget about Trevor Wilson and the face he made when he saw his bandmates again. He's definitely going to have a lot of questions for Julie after catching their show.
