Brave Husky Drops Into Corbet's Couloir

Dog owners, I have a question: How far would your pup go to keep up with you on the slopes?

If you answered, "I dunno, probably drop in behind me on Corbet's Couloir," your dog would be in good company with Elu, a husky who, ten years ago, did just that in a video filmed by Jason Strong.

Tune in below to watch what is probably the gnarliest line accomplished by man's best friend.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Elu passed a few years ago. While the Jackson Hole legend is gone, her legacy lives on with this video that's racked up 1.2 million views since 2013. She crushed a line that few skiers -- or dogs -- have attempted.

As for the run itself, Corbet's Couloir at JHMR is one of the most famous expert ski routes in North America, known for its committing entrance. To start the run, you either need to ski the goat's path that Elu ran down or jump off a 20-something-foot headwall.

Thus, completing the run is seen by many as a badge of honor in the skiing community and fodder for ultimate bragging rights.

But dogs don't brag (bless their furry hearts) or have any concept of fame, so the usual social trappings of Corbet's Couloir don't really apply to Elu. For her, charging down Corbet's Couloir was just another day playing with her friends in the snow.
