Whether you knew it or not, you've been seeing art by the hand of Mark Paul Deren aka Madsteez, for years. Whether it was in a 411 Video Magazine, in Nyjah Huston's skatepark, or a building-sized mural of maybe your favorite athlete or rapper.
We thought it high time to bring back one of our favorite features: Brain Floss. A deep dive into the artists' brain and process. It's been a staple of TWS since the print days. Skate and Create forever. Get WEEN with it.
From the NBA to the biggest rappers, Mark's art is sought after by all types of people. The Game regularly commissions him for portraits; he's painted Chris Brown's house, with Chris Brown; and Nike even blessed him with his own pro model. He's a non-stop creative powerhouse, his home studio is a living personification of his color vision. Next time you're in Brooklyn, give him and his friends a wave if you happen to pass by the #birdcage.
