Netflix has released some pictures of Bradley Cooper in his new movie Maestro that look…absolutely nothing like Bradley Cooper.

The actor looks unrecognizable after a dramatic transformation into composer Leonard Bernstein at different stages of his life.

The film follows Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre, played by Promising Young Woman’s Carey Mulligan.

In one striking photo, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor has been aged into the elderly version of the musician with incredibly realistic prosthetics that completely conceal Bradley’s distinctive appearance.

Production began earlier in the month and the film is expected to be released on the streaming platform next year.

As well as starring in the movie, Bradley is also the director and producer after he took on the role from Steven Spielberg.

The Hangover star told Variety that he was interested in the movie as a director more than an actor at the start.

“I [told Spielberg], ‘I always felt like I could play a conductor, but may I research the material and see if I can write it and direct it? Would you let me do that?’” he revealed.

“Steven has a lot of interests—he’ll just choose one thing and all of the other things will be on hold. I think he knew he wasn’t going to make that movie for a while. He was kind enough to hand it off to me, and that’s what I’ve been doing for the last four and a half years.”

Bradley also admitted that his childhood dream had been to become a conductor and that he even “asked Santa Claus for a baton” for Christmas.

Bradley’s directorial debut, A Star Is Born, went on to receive eight nominations at the Academy Awards, six Grammy nominations, and five Golden Globes nominations.

The soundtrack also sold more than 6 million copies worldwide, and Lady Gaga and Bradley went on to achieve a UK and U.S. number one with their single “Shallow.”

Bradley spent four years working on the project, learning guitar and piano and taking singing lessons in order to perform all his own live music in the film.
