Over the years, Bradley Cooper, 49, has been romantically linked with some of Hollywood’s biggest names, from Renée Zellweger to Jennifer Lopez. Despite his dating history, the Oscar-nominated director has opened up about not seeing himself as a heartthrob. In fact, when he was named People's Sexiest Man Alive in 2011, he initially thought it was a prank.

While appearing on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast in 2021, he said, "I thought it was a joke. I think I thought it was Dax pranking me...I don't think I ever, ever let that in—ever."

Most recently, rumor has it that Bradley Cooper's girlfriend is model Gigi Hadid. But we want to know: Who else has he dated in the past? Has he ever been married? Keep reading for more details on his relationship history.

We don't know how the couple first met, but fans caught on to their romance in January 2006, when the pair showed PDA at the Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globes party.

After quietly dating for over a year, their reps confirmed in October 2006 that the two were engaged. In December, they got married in the South of France, though the details of the ceremony haven't been revealed.

In May 2007, Jennifer Esposito's rep announced that she filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” After the divorce was finalized, Esposito told People, "It is what it should be. You have to move on. That's what life is about—taking a situation, making the best of it, and moving on."

2. Renée Zellweger

Cooper and Zellweger, who met on the set of the 2009 film, Case 39, sparked dating rumors when they were seen together in New York in June 2009. Plus, in 2010, Zellweger and Cooper's mom, Gloria, were seen shopping together, according to People.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight that year, Cooper praised the actress and said, “I can’t say enough about her...I just love her. I [loved] coming to work. I love acting with her. I can learn so much from her.”

The pair never confirmed these dating rumors, but a source confirmed to Us Weekly in 2011 that they had called it quits. The insider said, "If I had to pick any possible mistress, it would be Brad’s career. He worked really hard to get into leading man status. Renée had to take a backseat."

3. Jennifer Lopez

When Cooper and Jennifer Lopez were spotted having dinner in New York in September 2011, the Hollywood rumor mill instantly started buzzing. Although Cooper's rep claimed it was just a business meeting and denied they were dating, fans continued to speculate when the duo was spotted together again in Los Angeles.

A source claimed to People, "Bradley and Jennifer stayed in touch. She does like his attention, and it makes her feel good that he seems so into her. She has a fun time with Bradley, and he makes her laugh.”

It's worth noting that neither Cooper nor Lopez have publicly addressed these rumors, and there was no news of an official split, so it's possible that their romance was just a rumor.

4. Zoe Saldaña

Fans already suspected that Cooper and Zoe Saldaña were romantically involved after they costarred in The Words, but those rumors kicked into high gear when the two were seen having dinner in L.A. in January 2012.

During that year's annual Sundance Festival, the pair reportedly confirmed those rumors by showing PDA. Per Huffington Post, an attendee spotted the couple being very affectionate during a cocktail party in support of their movie, The Words. The source said, "They were kissing in front of the fire and being very affectionate. They are definitely very together. They were like two seventh graders. The electricity was out of this world."

Neither publicly confirmed the relationship, and the timing of when they broke up is unclear. However, it appears that Cooper and Saldaña parted ways at the end of 2012, since the pair celebrated New Year's Eve separately.

5. Suki Waterhouse

The duo were first linked when Suki Waterhouse joined Cooper for the premiere of American Hustle in 2013. Although they kept their relationship low-key, Waterhouse continued to join the star for red-carpet events, including the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Additionally, the couple was spotted showing PDA at Wimbledon in July 2014.

During her interview with Elle UK that year, she revealed why she preferred not to speak on their relationship. She said, “I don’t talk about my boyfriend because it’s boring. Maybe it’s best for me to say, ‘I’m not one of those girls who goes on about their boyfriends.’ I do think whatever I say will sound weird. But the truth is, if I start talking about him, I probably won’t be able to stop. And I don’t really want to talk about him, you know?”

The couple broke up in March 2015. One source told E! News, “They both want different things right now. Suki isn’t ready [to start a family]. She loves Bradley and he loves her but she’s so young and wants to concentrate on her acting career before becoming a mom.”

6. Irina Shayk

Cooper and the Russian supermodel were first seen together in April 2015, when they both attended the Broadway musical Finding Neverland in New York. They continued to make public appearances and even showed major PDA during their Italian getaway, but they chose not to discuss their relationship publicly.

In 2019, Irina Shayk told Glamour UK, "Because my work requires me to be out there, I just decided my personal life will be quiet. That's why it's called personal, because it's something for you and your family, and I feel happy with it."

In April 2017, the couple welcomed their daughter, Lea De Seine. While speaking with NPR about fatherhood, Cooper said, "I guess having a child, and having a family of my own—which is a miracle and something I've always dreamt of—has opened me up even more, I guess, to the day and to be present."

After four years of dating, Cooper and Shayk broke up in June 2019. However, the former couple made headlines in August 2022 when they were seen together on a tropical vacation. Naturally, some fans speculated that the two rekindled their relationship, but neither of them confirmed their dating status at the time.

7. Huma Abedin

In July 2022, a source revealed to People that Cooper was in a relationship with American political staffer Huma Abedin. The two apparently hit it off after they met at the Met Gala in May 2022, courtesy of their mutual friend, Anna Wintour.

The source said, "They are dating, but it's not a full-speed-ahead type thing yet. It's still in the earlier stages."

Another insider close to Abedin told the outlet, "Bradley is fascinated by her. Huma is very international and has seen and done so much. He finds this intriguing and challenging."

Neither of them confirmed the dating rumors, but it was reported that their relationship was short-lived.

8. Gigi Hadid

Hadid and Cooper were first romantically linked in October 2023, when they were seen having dinner at Via Carota in New York City. Since then, the couple has reportedly gone on weekend getaways and continued to spend time together.

One source told People, "They are having fun. I don’t see anything serious happening right away, if at all. It appears super casual now, but they both have kids, big careers, busy lives and understand what life is like in these circles. It’s cute…and there is an attraction.”

In December 2023, another source revealed that the two were getting more serious. They said, "They were quietly dating for much longer before it went public and were very hush-hush, trying to see if things would work between them. They had several months together privately and things have been going really well."

Fast-forward to 2024, and the duo are still going strong. Photos obtained by Page Six showed the model heading to a private dinner in L.A. with his Cooper and his mom, Gloria, following the 2024 Golden Globes.

An onlooker who spotted them at the afterparty told People, "Bradley and Gigi looked happy together. They weren’t overly affectionate, but it was still obvious that they are dating. There were lots of loving glances and flirting."

They added, "Whenever his mom spoke, [Hadid] listened enthusiastically and kept smiling. It looked like they were getting to know each other."
