Brad Pitt Watching Jennifer Aniston’s SAG Award Speech Is So Sweet

Update January 20, 12:00 p.m.: Aniston told reporters it was "sweet" of Pitt to drop everything to watch her acceptance speech from the wings. “We’ve all grown up together; we really have. And it just feels like a really fun night to celebrate and cheer each other on and keep working,” Aniston told ExtraTV of the now viral moment. She added: “There are not dark hours, but, you know, you don’t really have that much of a life, so it’s nice to come out and put a pretty dress on and sort of celebrate your friends and their work, and inspire each other to keep going—and like [Brad] said, it’s back to work tomorrow.” (The actor was referencing Pitt's own SAGs acceptance speech.)

And when a reporter from ET Canada revealed to Aniston that Pitt got emotional and reportedly started "crying" watching her speech, the former Friends star seemed shocked but flattered. "No!" she exclaimed, before making a "pshhh" noise of disbelief. (Watch here.)

ET Canada also asked her what it means to her to have the support of Pitt, to which Aniston responded, “It means everything. We all grew up together. This whole room. Their performances move me and excite me!” Jennifer continued. “We’re part of a community together…. It’s nice to have a night where you dress up and celebrate together.”

And here's one more juicy tidbit for fans of The Morning Show. When asked by Access Hollywood about a possible cameo from Pitt on he show, Aniston said it was the first time she'd heard the rumor, but added, "He’s more than welcome!”

Original story:

Jennifer Aniston took home the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series on Sunday, January 19, and she had someone very important watching her speech: Brad Pitt.

Yes, Pitt—who had just won the SAG for Best Supporting Actor—made a point to catch Aniston's speech while he was backstage. "Another look at Brad Pitt watching Jennifer Aniston winning her statue for #TheMorningShow at the #SAGAwards," the Hollywood Reporter captioned a tweet with a video of Pitt. Earlier in the evening, cameras caught Aniston's reaction to a marriage joke Pitt made in his acceptance speech. He quipped that playing a character “who gets high, takes his shirt off, and doesn’t get on with his wife” was a stretch, which got a smile out of Aniston.

Pitt and Aniston had a brief reunion backstage at the SAGs. Here are some photos of that:

But don't think any of this is a sign they're getting back together. These two are just good friends—Pitt said as much at the Golden Globes when asked if he hoped to run into Aniston at the show. "I'll run into Jen. She's a good friend. The second most important reunion of her year," he said, making a subtle nod to all the rumors the Friends cast is reuniting.

According to E! News, the two also had a friendly (but brief) catch-up session at a Golden Globes after-party. "They said hello very quickly,” a source said. “Jen arrived after Brad. It was brief, but [they] were very cordial and friendly and seemed happy to be there. They approached each other once they saw each other inside and looked happy as they started to hug and say hello. Jen whispered something to Brad, but it wasn’t in an affectionate way. They both didn’t seem like they wanted to make a big deal about being together in the same room although it was a private party. They were trying to be low-key. Brad left shortly after and didn’t stay at the party long.”
