Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been embroiled in a bitter divorce war ever since they separated in 2016 over numerous things: custody of their six children, their finances, and the hot topic of the week, their French vineyard, Château Miraval. Although it’s not really theirs anymore. Angelina Jolie sold her shares of Château Mirval to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler in 2021, which Brad Pitt claims was unlawful. Brad Pitt Sues Angelina Jolie For Breach Of Contract

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt purchased Château Miraval, the setting of their 2014 wedding, in 2008, becoming 50/50 partners. In October 2021, Angelina Jolie sold her shares to Yuri Shefler for $67 million. Some reports have accused Angelina of doing so out of spite, as it happened shortly after Brad was awarded shared custody over their children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. Angelina's reps have denied these accusations.

In February 2022, the Moneyball actor sued Jolie for selling the winery, in which he sought monetary damages, legal fees, and for her sale of Miraval to Shefler to be voided. He says that she sold her half of the company without his agreement or knowledge, something they had privately agreed to uphold. He also accused Shefler of trying to "bully" and "threaten" him.

In June 2023, Pitt filed additional claims against the Maleficent actress, accusing her of trying to damage his involvement in the company. A Los Angeles Superior Court ruled this week that the case, involving Pitt, Jolie, and Shefler, could go to trial, and if it does, Brad's not backing down.

Brad Pitt Isn't Afraid To 'Stand Up To Bullies'

If the case does go to trial, Brad Pitt is willing to testify against his ex-wife, according to a source close to Brad. "He's willing to go and testify on a stand if it went to trial," they said.

Brad has spent upwards of $10M on legal fees throughout this entire 8+ year ordeal, but he isn't bothered by it. "This is all about standing up to bullies and defending his own people, principles, and the truth," another source close to Brad has stated. "Brad is standing firm for what he believes in."

While this lawsuit is far from over, Brad insiders are confident that he has the upper hand. "There's a long way to go in this litigation, but at the moment, the momentum is clearly with Brad." What will come of Château Miraval is yet to be seen.
