Those who listen to country music know that Brad Paisley is at the top of his game right now. To date, the "My Miracle" singer has racked up three Grammys, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, and two American Music Awards.

But before Brad was one of the biggest names in country music, he was just a 19-year-old aspiring musician enamored with a beautiful actress named Kimberly Williams, who is now his wife of 17 years.

It all started back in 1991 when Brad was on a date watching Father of the Bride. While enjoying the movie, he found himself instantly attracted to Kimberly, who starred in the film with Steve Martin.

Four years later, Brad's girlfriend had dumped him for his best friend, and he was feeling miserable about it, he told Good Housekeeping in 2007. While moping, he went to see Father of the Bride II alone — and seeing Kimberly again instantly cheered him up.

"I thought, she seems like a great girl — smart and funny and all those things that are so hard to find," he said.

But it wasn't until 2000 that their paths crossed. By this time, Brad was popular in the country music world, having just been named the ACM top male vocalist of the year. One of the songs on his sophomore album, Part II, included lyrics about his ex-girlfriend and watching Father of the Bride. With Kimberly still on his mind, he asked the actress if she would be in the music video for the track entitled "I'm Gonna Miss Her." She accepted, and the two started dating.

Eight months later, they were completely smitten with each other. And in 2002 at Venice Beach Pier, Brad dropped to one knee and proposed to Kimberly ... right in front of the public toilets.

On March 15, 2003, Kimberly and Brad tied the knot at the Stauffer Chapel at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. The couple moved together to Nashville, Tennessee and now have two sons — William, 12, and Jasper, 10.

Even though it took a while for Brad and Kimberly to meet, it was pure magic when they did. And now, Bradley says the couple is as solid as ever.

“We both have very healthy senses of humor. Anything I take myself too seriously on, she will gladly cut me down to size on and destroy all pre-conceived notions that I’m cool in any way,” Paisley told The Boot.

"That’s the key — a sense of humor.”
