"To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You" Actor Sarayu Blue Shared a Deleted Moment With Lana Condor

Just when I thought the To All the Boys I've Loved Before sequel, P.S. I Still Love You had melted my heart completely, a new revelation comes along.

On Monday, Sarayu Blue — who plays Dr. Covey's neighbor and love interest Trina — shared with her Instagram followers stills from a very special deleted scene in P.S. I Still Love You. The post was shared approximately one year after filming on the TATB sequel, making the occasion all the more special.

In a lengthy caption, Sarayu recalled the circumstances around the pictures, ultimately revealing they were part of a deleted scene featuring her and Lana Condor, a.k.a. Lara Jean. "A year ago at this time, we were shooting #ToAlltheBoys2," Sarayu wrote. "I landed on these pics the makeup artist had sent me and I remembered this story: @lanacondor & I had this very sweet little scene where we had a heart to heart. There had been many versions, and many on-set revisions, but the final decision was that I’d be gardening. I am a terrible gardener." ⠀ ⠀ Sarayu continued the caption by recalling that "poor Lana had to do a fairly heart-wrenching scene, while I repeatedly murdered a daffodil (I think it was a daffodil?) She also had to stop over and over again for incessant birds, planes, and quite possibly the longest train in the history of trains. Lana is such a pro though, she would stop, stay in the heart of it, and get right back to the scene with absolute grace & professionalism. Somehow we got through it, crushed daffodils, relentless trains and all. The scene did not go into the film. I blame my gardening."

Thanks to Sarayu tagging Lana in the Instagram post, the To All the Boys star re-posted the photos into her [Instagram Stories]. Lana added, "This. Caption. I wish we could see this cut scene so bad."

Unfortunately, fans were not treated to a more in-depth description of the scene Sarayu and Lana filmed as Trina and Lara Jean. But, considering how close Trina and Lara Jean are in Jenny Han's To All the Boys sequel novels, I'm willing to bet this particular heart-to-heart was going to be pretty dang spectacular. In the books, Trina becomes even more important to the Covey family and a guiding force for Lara Jean as time goes on. It would have been awesome to see the beginnings of Trina and Lara Jean's friendship play out on screen to mirror how it happens in the books. Hopefully, the third film will feature some more Trina and Lara Jean bonding.
