May 16—VALDOSTA — The Boys and Girls Club of Valdosta recently celebrated the graduation of its latest Raising Highly Capable Kids parenting class cohort. The event, sponsored by Steel's Jewelry, took place on May 13, at The McKey.

The graduation ceremony serves as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and growth achieved by the parents who have completed the comprehensive Focus on the Family curriculum, the club said in a press release. Over the course of 13 weeks, participants have engaged in a series of lessons, discussions, and interactive sessions designed to equip them with essential parenting skills and strategies.

"At the Boys & Girls Club, we recognize that parents have the most pivotal role in shaping the lives of their children and the future of our community," said Kristin Hanna, president and CEO at the Boys & Girls Club of Valdosta. "Our Focus on the Family curriculum is carefully crafted to provide participants with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to navigate the challenges and celebrate the successes of parenthood confidently."

The graduation ceremony featured a seated Covington's dinner, testimonials from participants, and presentations highlighting the accomplishments of the graduating class. Attendees had the opportunity to celebrate the graduates and witness the positive impact of the Raising Highly Capable Kids program firsthand.

"We are incredibly proud of each parent who has completed the program," added Brenda Hardy, one of the class facilitators. "Through their dedication and perseverance, they have not only enhanced their own parenting skills but also fostered stronger, healthier relationships within their families and fellow classmates."

The Boys & Girls Club of Valdosta extended its gratitude to the sponsors, volunteers, and community partners who have contributed to the success of the Raising Highly Capable Kids parenting class program.
