Every pair of PX headphones comes with a soft carrying case, a charging cable, and a standard audio cable in case you run out of battery.
Fantastic Audio Quality
The audio quality of the PX is truly exceptional, especially considering that the headset has active noise-canceling tech on board. By utilizing the same 40-millimeter audio drivers (with different calibration) as the company's range-topping P9 Signature wired headphones, the Bowers & Wilkins PX deliver a superbly balanced audio signature that'll appeal to even the most discerning audiophiles.
The level of detail in the audio experience is particularly impressive — it sets the PX headphones apart from the competition. Typically, noise-canceling headphones give up a bit in audio quality for the ability to cancel out ambient noise. The Bowers & Wilkins headphones do not.
The adaptive noise cancellation of the PX headphones is also top-notch, though not quite on the same level as the best that Bose and Sony have to offer. Bowers & Wilkins’ offering, however, has the edge in terms of audio quality.
You can fine-tune the noise-canceling experience to match your surroundings via a sleek mobile app. There are three distinct settings (city, flight, office), and you can tune each exactly to your liking. For example, when in office mode, you can tune the voice pass-through, so you can hear your surroundings or tune out completely.
Made for Long Audio Stints
Comfort is a must-have for all noise-canceling headphones, and the Bowers & Wilkins PX deliver it aplenty. The PX headphones are lightweight and have well-padded ear cups, so you can spend hours of listening without fatigue.
The volume, playback, and noise-canceling controls are placed on the right ear cup. The PX headphones have a built-in sensor, which automatically pauses the playback when you take them off. You can disable it in the mobile app if you prefer.
We only wish that the headset were as foldable as its rivals from Sony and Bose for easier packing. Its soft carrying case is also not the best solution for this price point.
Excellent Battery Life
The headset can deliver up to 22 hours of wireless tunes between charges — enough for a transcontinental flight or a round trip from NY to LA. That’s a great feat for a headset this feature-packed, and it's on par with its competitors from Bose and Sony.
We love that Bowers & Wilkins has opted to use a USB-C port for charging the PX headphones. It's a decidedly future-proof choice that their competitors have yet to adopt.
Totally Worth It
The Bowers & Wilkins PX sets a new standard not just for noise-canceling headphones, but also for wireless headsets in general. Because they don’t require you to make a compromise between the quality of the sound and the noise cancellation, the headphones are worth every bit of their hefty price tag.
Priced at $399, the PX headphones cost $50 more the Bose QC 35 Series II and the Sony WH-1000XM2. We believe that their superior audio quality makes the premium well worth it.
