Bow Down! Beyoncé Makes History at the Grammys

Her only competition is herself.

Beyoncé made history at the 2023 Grammys: The Renaissance singer now holds the record for most Grammy awards ever.

Bey previously tied Grammy Award record holder Georg Solti, a composer, with 31 awards, and she shattered his record with her win for Best Dance/Electronic Album for Renaissance.

"I'm trying not to be too emotional," a tearful Queen Bey said in her acceptance speech.

"I just want to just receive this night. I want to thank God for protecting me. Thank you, God. I'd like to thank my Uncle Johnny, who is not here, but he's here in spirit," she said, her voice breaking. "I'd like to thank my parents, my father, my mother, for loving me, for pushing me. I'd like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children who are at home watching."

"I'd like to thank the queer community for their love and for inventing the genre," she said. "God bless you, and thank you so much to the Grammys."

Renaissance was inspired and dedicated to Beyoncé's late Uncle Johnny, a gay man who died from AIDS.

She recently came under fire for performing in Dubai for a cool $24 million, as homosexuality is illegal in the United Arab Emirates.
