The next Bourne film is on the way, according to actor Matt Damon.

Speaking to Stephen Colbert on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Damon says it’s in production, and it’ll be helmed by All Quiet on the Western Front director Edward Berger.

“There’s a great director, named Edward Berger, who directed All Quiet on the Western Front. I don’t know if you saw it, it came out recently. Fantastic. A German director, he’s wonderful. And he said he had an idea. I would love to work with him! So he’s working on it.”

It’ll be the sixth Bourne film. The series kicked off with 2002’s The Bourne Identity, based on Robert Ludlum’s 1980 novel about a spy with amnesia on a journey to remember his past.

The last time we saw Damon in the role was 2016’s Jason Bourne, and the actor is keen to get the ball rolling on its follow-up.
