The #BottleCapChallenge Wants You to Flex Your Martial Arts Skills
The internet is full of viral challenges these days, from ice buckets to Beyoncé choreography, and the latest #BottleCapChallenge has celebrities and social media users kicking (and in Mariah Carey's case, screaming.) So what exactly is this new internet sensation? Let us explain.

What do you have to do?
The rules are pretty simple. All you need is a bottle with a cap and a friend to assist. The objective is to roundhouse kick the loosened cap off the bottle, without toppling the bottle over. Basically, you only want to hit the cap—NOT the bottle or your friend holding the bottle down—so it does require a level of accuracy.
Where did this come from?
The video was first popular among the martial arts community, as the challenge utilizes the roundhouse kick. According to The New York Times, it may have started with Kazakh Taekwondo champion Farabi Davletchin, who posted his challenge last week with the hashtag #farakickschallenge. In the video, he knocks the cap off the bottle and nominates celebrities like Jason Statham, Conor McGregor, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Jackie Chan.
