Boreal Mountain, CA Opens Today Against All Odds

While it seems like most resorts are delaying openings due to warm weather and lack of snow, Boreal Mountain in California is not only opening on time, they're opening today.

Even better, Boreal announced that the season is starting with 13 features thanks to their Park Crew.

Boreal is perhaps best known for its night skiing and fun terrain park. In fact, the Boreal Terrain Park was voted "most creative terrain park" in the US in 2020, so I know the park rats are frothing on this one.

Being in such close vicinity to Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows, Boreal makes up for its smaller size with its very-much-appreciated larger schedule (you can ski until 8pm, 4 hours longer than most other resorts)!

There is even a dedicated Boreal Night Pass giving skiers access to the mountain from 3 to 8pm. Even if you work from 9-5, you can enjoy almost a full day--or, evening--of skiing as the parks are fully lit and the sunset will happen right as you're going up the chair.

Boreal Mountain is not on the IKON or EPIC pass, but seasonal rates are less than other mountains in the area. Are you going to make the trek to Boreal today to check out the park and get your tricks back?

This early in the season, considering the park versus powder debate, it seems like park is winning.
