Books by Asian Authors To Read During AAPI Month

In the month of May, also known as Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we come together to truly celebrate the diverse voices and experiences of Asian and Pacific Islanders across generations. And while that may look like giving recognition to your AAPI employees, or celebrating tradition in your family, it could also mean cuddling up on your couch and reading a book by an AAPI author. In fact, books can often do wonders in opening our minds to new experiences or making us feel like we’re not the only ones.

“My favorite books and movies are the ones that make me feel less alone, the ones that feel like the author is speaking an emotional truth into the ether and asking, anyone else?” Yulin Kuang shared when her new novel, How to End a Love Story, was announced as Reese Witherspoon’s latest book club pick.  “This book is my message in a bottle, via art into the ether.”
